About the Artist
Austin Lyons is a worship pastor and songwriter based in San Jose, California. He has spent more than twenty years leading worship in churches of all shapes and sizes—from portable cafeterias and pop-up campuses to established multi-site congregations in the Bay Area.
As a teenager, Austin discovered music during a painful season after his father left his family. What began as learning guitar in a bedroom became both a refuge and a calling, eventually leading to touring and recording with the band I Am Empire on Tooth & Nail Records before entering full-time church ministry.
Over the years, Austin discovered that worship leading is less about music and production and more about pastoring people while learning to worship God personally first. His own struggles with burnout, anxiety, pride, and performance-driven ministry forced him to confront the difference between working for God and living loved by God—a shift that reshaped both his life and leadership.
Today, he serves the local church by raising up new worship leaders, mentoring teams, and helping leaders pursue health and longevity in ministry. He continues to write and release worship music as an expression of devotion rooted in his life with Jesus.
